Asylum Granted – First-Tier Tribunal

At the First-Tier Tribunal, Mr. Razzaq-Siddiq instructed by Waterstone Solicitiors represented the appellant, a Bangladeshi national who feared persecution in his home country due to his political affiliation with the Bangladeshi Nationalist Party. The Home Office had previously refused his protection claim unsatisfied that his removal to Bangladesh would expose him to serious harm. Mr. Razzaq-Siddiq through the addition of new witness testimony (who Mr. Razzaq had represented early and had secured asylum for) and an appropriate skeleton argument was able to show the Appellant’s removal would breach the UK’s obligations under the Refugee Convention. The Appellant was thus entitled to be recognised as a refugee and his fees reimbursed to him by way of fee award due to the previous adverse decision against him. The client was overjoyed with the result.
